Cover Story: Knowledge Graphs (KGs) represent a network of real-world entities, i.e., objects, events, or concepts, and illustrate their relationships. They are widely used in Question Answering and Dialogue systems, Recommendation engines, etc. KGs, built in an automated fashion, utilize NLP techniques to construct an extensive view of nodes, edges, and labels. Expanding their size and coverage is often tricky as it introduces noise that requires cleaning, usually via a manual process. This work introduces a fully automated system to extend a Knowledge Graph (KG) that uses external information from web-scale corpora. Our work utilizes global structure information of the induced KG to refine the confidence of the newly discovered relations, with the intention of minimizing the error rate in the expanded KG.
