2021 June - 37 articles

Cover Story: To develop profitable business models for electric vehicle charging, it is necessary to understand user preferences. The interplay of physical assets, digital assets, and brand image, as well as cooperation and interaction with other actors in the network, defines both the performance of service provision and the focal company's power position in the network. This paper analyzes previous literature to develop a conceptual framework that links a firm's resources, the surrounding value network, and user preferences. Findings from two EV charging projects are summarized to illustrate user preferences in this domain. Finally, four case studies from the EV charging market are presented to illustrate the framework and provide a better understanding of business model dynamics. View this paper.
