Cover Story: RegTech is a set of technologies that aims to ensure compliance with acceptable practices and requirements in industries. With the onset and integration of Industry 4.0 or the industrial Internet of Things, many aspects of manufacturing, shipping and services have been completely digitalized. This makes business operations efficient and profitable. RegTech takes advantage of this by collecting the required information from these digitalized sources in real time and harnessing them for monitoring industrial processes. The future of RegTech lies in using purposely designed frameworks for specific industries powered by the next generation of the industrial Internet of Things, and computational tools such as artificial intelligence and blockchain.
