Section Information

This section focuses on the security, privacy, trust, and resilience of future Internet-based systems, services, applications, data, and users. As the Internet continues to evolve through cloud, edge, and fog computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), cyber–physical systems, mobile and wireless networks, artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and critical infrastructure, the attack surface of modern network environments is becoming broader and more complex. Thus, cybersecurity is no longer limited to protecting individual systems or networks. Cybersecurity is fundamental to realizing the design, deployment, and operation of reliable and trustworthy Internet-based operating environments. This section welcomes research that addresses both established and emerging cybersecurity challenges, including secure network system design; threat detection, response, and attribution; privacy protection; identity and access management; secure communication; applied cryptography; vulnerability analysis; malware defense; and cyber resilience, among others.

The section invites original research articles, review papers, case studies, and experimental studies that present new theories, methods, technologies, tools, datasets, and practical solutions for cybersecurity, including the understanding and limitations of threat capabilities and the design of countermeasures to secure future Internet-based systems. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, network and system security, cloud and edge security, IoT and cyber–physical system security, mobile and wireless security, AI-driven cybersecurity, security and privacy of AI systems, adversarial machine learning, blockchain and distributed trust, software and application security, digital forensics, cyber threat intelligence, risk assessment, and cybersecurity governance. Contributions that combine technical innovation with real-world validation, interdisciplinary perspectives, or deployment experience are especially encouraged. The goal of this section is to establish a platform for researchers and practitioners to share advances that support a secure, reliable, and trustworthy future Internet.
