Future Internet 2024 Best Paper Award
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the “Future Internet 2024 Best Paper Award” for research and review articles published in Future Internet from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2022. One article will receive the award. The paper will be selected after a thorough evaluation by the Award Committee led by the Associate Editor, Prof. Dr. Claude Chaudet.
Eligibility for the Award:
– Papers published in Future Internet from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2022;
– Open to all career levels;
– Both regular and Special Issue submissions will be considered.
Selection Criteria:
The papers will be selected by the journal Award Committee according to the following criteria:
– Scientific merit and broad impact;
– Originality of the research objectives and/or the ideas presented;
– Creativity of the study design or uniqueness of the approaches and concepts;
– Clarity of presentation;
– Citations and downloads.
The Prize:
– CHF 500;
– A chance to publish a paper free of charge in Future Internet in 2024 after peer review;
– A certificate.
The winner will be announced on the journal website on 31 March 2024.

Dear Colleagues,
As the Editor-in-Chief of Future Internet, I am pleased to announce the winners of the Future Internet 2019 Travel Award on behalf of the Evaluation Committee:
Dr. Ana Lucila Sandoval Orozco is a Post-doctoral researcher at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Her research is focused on the growing area of multimedia forensics, more specific on the analysis of detecting forgery over images and video files. She is planning to present her work “Pornography Detection in Videos: A review” at the 4th IEEE European Symposium on Security and Privacy, which will be held in Stockholm, Sweden on 17-19 July 2019. The award consists of 400 Swiss Francs towards attending this conference.
Dr. Matteo Zignani is a Post-doctoral researcher at University of Milan. His research is focused on the understanding of the evolution of sociotechnological systems, such as online social networks, distributed online social networks and mobile phone call networks. He is planning to present his work “Mastodon Content Warnings: Inappropriate Contents in a Microblogging Platform” at the 13th International AAAI Conference on Web and Social Media (ICWSM-2019), which will be held in Munich, German on 11-14 June 2019. The award consists of 400 Swiss Francs towards attending this conference.
It was a tough decision, given the exceptional quality of applications for the award, and on behalf of the award committee, I wish to thank all applicants and to congratulate Dr. Ana Lucila Sandoval Orozco and Dr. Matteo Zignani for their accomplishments.
