2022 November-2 - 177 articles

Cover Story: Terpenoids, one of the largest groups of plant and microbe secondary metabolites, positively or negatively impact seed germination and plant growth. Low dosages can have plant-growth-promoting properties. When fumigated with bouquets emitted from small M. x piperita plants, Arabidopsis thaliana develops larger rosettes with longer narrow leaves and longer petioles. qPCR analyses revealed a downregulation of TCP transcription factors involved in leaf maturation, similar to Brassica rapa plants exposed to limonene. Greenhouse and polytunnel trials with 2- and 3-week-old Brassica oleracea and Mentha plants differentially promoted defined young leaves depending on the trial. These positive effects could be of interest for agricultural applications. View this paper
