Algorithms, Volume 19, Issue 1

2026 January - 92 articles

Cover Story: Artificial intelligence has quickly become one of the key tools of modern clinical medicine. This paper presents an up-to-date overview of AI applications in internal medicine, including cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, hepatology, and pancreatic diseases. The analyzed clinical studies and real-world implementations demonstrate that AI algorithms outperform traditional diagnostic and therapeutic methods in detecting atrial fibrillation, heart failure, and cancer, as well as in optimizing invasive treatment and palliative care. AI has come a long way from an experimental technology to a tool with a real impact on patient prognosis, reduced hospitalizations, and healthcare system efficiency, while also highlighting challenges related to validation and safety. View this paper
