Cover Story: The selective removal of indigo from textiles is a critical step toward enabling high-value recycling and circular material flows. In this study, we investigate aqueous-based solutions and ozone technology as a controlled and more sustainable strategy for print removal when compared to current methods. The proposed approach aims to enhance indigo removal efficiency while minimizing damage to the textile substrate, thereby preserving the quality of the recovered materials. The results suggest a promising route toward more circular textile pathways, supporting circular economy strategies in the textile sector and offering potential industrial relevance. View this paper
