Cover Story: Ionospheric models calculated by GNSS observations provide a powerful method to study spatial and temporal ionospheric TEC variations, as well as monitor ionospheric disturbances before earthquakes. Our observation and analysis of TEC variations and disturbances over Japan showed that GNSS observing seems to be very effective in finding ionospheric characteristics and forecasting natural disasters.
