Cover Story: This study explores the predictability of pressure curve parameters of a grease application process. Grease unfortunately varies greatly in its parameters over storage time, temperature, and pressure, to name a few. In this study, grease application pressure curve parameters are predicted via neural networks. To cover variations in the parameters, two neural networks are used: one to predict the parameters’ mean values and the other to predict the parameters’ standard deviations. Several neural network architectures were compared and evaluated for every pressure curve parameter. View this paper
