Cover Story: We demonstrate a photosensing PUF based on a SnTe memristor (In2O3:SnO2/SnTe/Nb:SrTiO3) for both image encryption and neuromorphic recognition. The device exhibits stable switching, long retention (>4000 s), and synaptic plasticity. Under illumination, stochastic photocurrent fluctuations from device-to-device variations enable encryption key generation for image scrambling. A memristive neural network achieves 95.1% recognition accuracy on encrypted images. This work establishes a viable pathway from intrinsic optical randomness to secure neuromorphic computing, highlighting the multifunctional potential of SnTe memristors in integrated hardware security and brain-inspired computation. View this paper
