Cover Story: This study presents a novel visible light-assisted photocatalytic degradation process for Congo red dye. We synthesized mixed-dimensional ReS2-decorated LaFeO3 nanohybrids with varying ReS2 content and demonstrated their enhanced photocatalytic activity compared to pristine materials. Notably, the 5 wt% ReS2-LaFeO3 nanohybrids achieved a remarkable 82% degradation efficiency for Congo red dye under visible light irradiation within 180 minutes. These findings highlight the approach’s effectiveness and offer significant contributions to the field of photocatalytic remediation by introducing a novel photocatalyst design with efficient visible-light activity.
