Cover Story: As we age, the decline of SIRT1 becomes a key molecular phenomenon, breaking down a cell’s ability to maintain healthy mitochondria. When this system fails or dysregulates, it triggers bioenergetic alteration, releasing damaged molecules, triggering inflammation that generates an inflammaging phenotype and leads to age-related diseases. As SIRT1 plays such a central role in this process, it is a promising target for treatment. By restoring its effectiveness, we can revitalize mitochondrial health, reduce chronic inflammation, and potentially slow down or prevent many age-related diseases, thus transforming what we know about aging to achieve real medical breakthroughs. View this paper
