Cover Story: Would it not be great if students engaged eagerly with learning and became passionate with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects? Educational escape rooms are a new form of serious games that can be arranged in physical or virtual (3D) spaces. Well-designed virtual reality escape rooms have been linked to increased cognitive and affective learning outcomes. However, how do teachers view them? Do they find them useful? Would they use them? Would they approach the idea of designing their own? This article provides insights into K-12 educators’ perspectives employing quantitative and qualitative research methods. View this paper
