Cover Story: Therapeutic ultrasound can generate localized heating within biological tissue, making precise control of temperature distribution essential. Using ex vivo chicken breast tissue, this study combines experimental thermocouple measurements with coupled acoustic–thermal numerical modeling to investigate tissue heating under continuous 3 MHz ultrasound exposure. The results reveal distinct spatial temperature gradients and show that increasing acoustic power raises tissue temperature while producing a less uniform thermal distribution. Close agreement between experiments and simulations highlights the potential of numerical modeling to support more controlled ultrasound-based thermal treatment strategies. View this paper
