Cover Story: The system of integrated accounting for all types of waste generated and the environmental costs incurred for handling them during the efficiency assessment of energy investment projects has been developed. The proposed system makes it possible to increase the effectiveness of the environmental assessment and the accuracy of the formation of cash flows at all stages of the energy project implementation. A potential scheme for accounting for waste generation contains: (i) accounting for waste generation and the costs of handling them for the formation of cash flows of the projects in monetary units; (ii) accounting for waste generation to assess the environmental effectiveness of the energy project in physical units. The introduction of the accounting system also contributes to solving the problem of unaccounted costs. View this paper
