Cover Story: Thermoelectric materials can reduce greenhouse gas emissions, lower energy consumption, and improve energy management by converting heat into electricity. However, integrating new thermoelectric materials into bulk devices remains challenging. To address this, efficient tetrahedrite nanocomposites were prepared via solid-state reaction, followed by MoS2 nanoparticle addition and hot-pressing. Characterization by XRD, SEM-EDS, and Raman spectroscopy confirmed the nanoparticle distribution. The inclusion of nanoparticles reduced lattice thermal conductivity while retaining mobility, increasing the maximum thermoelectric figure of merit by 36%, demonstrating the potential of nanocomposites for use in next-generation, cost-effective thermoelectric devices. View this paper
