The Section “Drugs Toxicity” of Toxics (ISSN: 2305-6304) is recruiting Editorial Board Members. You can check the existing Editorial Board Members by visiting the following link: https://www.mdpi.com/journal/toxics/sectioneditors/drugs_toxicity.

The main responsibilities of the Section Editorial Board Members are as follows:

• Providing scientific supervision for the Section;
• Inviting distinguished scientists to join the Editorial Board;
• Suggesting hot topics for Special Issues;
• Making decisions about the suitability of a paper to enter the peer-review process and about its acceptance at the end of the process;
• Promoting the Section, recommending international conference cooperation, and assisting this Section in holding physical/electronic conferences;
• Providing feedback and suggesting improvements to the journal.

The Section “Drugs Toxicity” of the journal Toxics focuses on studies on the toxicological effects of drugs of abuse and drugs in central nervous and peripheral systems. This Section invites submissions of high-quality manuscripts that report on investigations into the effects of acute or chronic exposure to drugs of abuse and other related drugs in the CNS and PNS. Drugs of abuse may include alcohol, cocaine, methamphetamine, nicotine, cathinone, opioids, psychedelics, marijuana, cathinone, ecstasy, LSD, mescaline, psilocybin, PCP, rohypnol, and others. The Section also invites submissions of studies that involve other CNS drugs, including benzodiazepines and antipsychotics. In addition, this Section welcomes submissions of studies that involve pharmacological and experimental methods for the investigation of toxicological effects of drugs of abuse and other drugs that affect the CNS and PNS. Reviews and commentaries are also welcome in this Section.

Recently, Clarivate^TM revealed its 2022 list of Highly Cited Researchers™—Individuals at universities, research institutes and commercial organizations.

The scientists who were selected into this year’s list of Highly Cited Researchers have published highly cited papers in the 11-year period from January 2011 to December 2021, with citation frequency in the top 1% of academic subjects and the same year of publication in the Web of Science^TM database. Based on Web of Science Citation data, 6,938 researchers from across the globe who have demonstrated a disproportionate level of significant and broad influence in their chosen field or fields over the last decade have been awarded Highly Cited Researcher 2022 designations. The list is truly global, spanning 69 countries or regions and spread across a diverse range of research sciences and social sciences.

According to statistics, four Editorial Board Members of Toxics (ISSN: 2305-6304) have been selected into the list of Highly Cited Researchers of Clarivate in 2022. They are being recognized for their high-quality scientific research achievements and outstanding contributions to their professional fields. The Toxics journal office sincerely congratulates all elected Editorial Board Members and hopes that they continue to have an academically productive relationship with the journal.

Scientists at Stanford have recently published an update of the list of the top 2% most widely cited scientists—The World’s Top 2% Scientists.

The time node of the statistical data of this list is from 1960 to 2022, and it is divided into two lists: "Lifetime Scientific Influence Ranking" and "2022 Annual Scientific Influence Ranking". The "Lifetime Scientific Influence Ranking" counts the comprehensive influence performance of scientists during their careers, and the "2022 Annual Influence Ranking" focuses on highlighting the academic influence of scientists in the previous year. This ranking, considered the most prestigious worldwide, is based on the bibliometric information contained in the Scopus database and includes more than 200,000 researchers from the more than 10 million scientists considered to be active worldwide, with 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields taken into account.

We are pleased to share that 77 Editorial Board Members from Toxics (ISSN: 2305-6304) were featured in the World’s Top 2% Scientists list in 2022.

The latest Stanford rankings reflect the significant influence and research excellence of the scientists, who are committed to furthering their knowledge for the benefit of the world.

We would like to congratulate our Editorial Board Members on their excellent achievement and thank them for their immense contribution to the scientific progression and development of Toxics.

MDPI will be attending the 2022 MTG of JPS Indoor Environment, held in Tokyo, Japan, from 1 to 2 December 2022. The theme of this year’s conference is the preservation of human health and the maintenance of comfortable environments. Throughout the conference, prominent researchers and government officials will give keynote speeches on pressing issues of indoor environment. The 2022 MTG of JPS Indoor Environment provides an excellent opportunity for participants from industry and academia to keep up to date with the latest trends in indoor environmental problems.

During this conference, MDPI will welcome researchers from different backgrounds to visit and share their latest views and research with us.

Peer Review Week began 19 September 2022 under the theme of “Research Integrity: Creating and Supporting Trust in Research”. Through various blog articles, podcast, and webinar, we discussed this crucial subject throughout the week, celebrating the essential role peer review plays in maintaining research quality.

To begin, we held a Webinar on the topic. Professor Peter W. Choate and Dr. Emmanuel Obeng-Gyasi joined Dr. Ioana Craciun, one of MDPI’s scientific officers, for an in-depth discussion.

Toxics (ISSN: 2305-6304) will be attending the 17th Persistent Organic Pollutants Forum and Chemical Environmental Safety Conference as an exhibitor. This meeting will be held in Qingdao, China, from 8 to 10 December 2022.

The Persistent Organic Pollutants Forum and Chemical Environmental Safety Conference (hereinafter referred to as the "POPs Forum") was initiated by the Persistent Organic Pollutants Research Center of Tsinghua University in 2006, and cooperated with the Office of the National Coordination Group for the Implementation of the Stockholm Convention of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. A series of annual meetings cosponsored by the Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences and the Persistent Organic Pollutants Professional Committee have been successfully held for 16 sessions by 2021. The POPs Forum has become a forum for academia, management, and industry in the field of POPs in China to brainstorm and contemplate countermeasures, review the international trends in POPs compliance and China's progress, discuss POPs research hotspots and development trends, and showcase high-tech and advanced products for POPs analysis and control, as well as high-level communication platforms.

The 17th POPs Forum focuses on "new pollutant treatment", and invites domestic as well as foreign experts from various fields of government, industry, academia, and research to discuss and exchange information together.

We are pleased to report that the 2021 impact factor of Toxics (ISSN: 2305-6304) increased to 4.472 in the recent release of the Journal Citation Reports ®, representing the 3rd consecutive year of continuous growth. Toxics now ranks Q2 in the WoS JCR categories “Toxicology” (24/94) and "Environmental Sciences" (105/279). We are grateful to all the scholars who have contributed to and witnessed the journal’s growth with us!

A range of MDPI journals will be attending the 11th National Conference on Environmental Chemistry as an exhibitor. This meeting will be held in Harbin, China, from 25 to 29 July 2022.
