Best Paper Award
The Materials Best Paper Award is granted annually to highlight publications of high quality, scientific significance, and wide-reaching influence. The evaluation committee members choose 18 articles of exceptional quality that were published in the journal in 2024 and announce them online by the end of March 2026.
The prize:
– Nine research articles and nine reviews will be selected;
– The first prize (two research and two review articles): CHF 500 each;
– The second prize (three research and three review articles): CHF 300 each;
– The third prize (four research and four review articles): CHF 200 each;
– A voucher covering applicable paper article processing fees (valid for one year);
– A certificate.
Eligibility and requirements
– All papers published in Materials will be eligible (both regular and Special Issue submissions).
Selection Criteria
– Scientific merit and broad impact;
– The originality of the research objectives and/or the ideas presented;
– The creativity of the study design or uniqueness of the approaches and concepts;
– The clarity of presentation;
– Citations and downloads.
