Cover Story: Palm leaf manuscripts are invaluable treasures of global cultural heritage, yet they are vulnerable to environmental influences. This study explores the impact of relative humidity on the primary chemical components of these manuscripts, unveiling the delicate balance required for their preservation. Through advanced spectroscopy and diffraction techniques, the research highlights how extreme humidity conditions accelerate degradation, while a relative humidity of 50% minimizes deterioration. These findings provide critical insights into the mechanisms of aging and inform strategies for safeguarding these ancient artifacts for future generations. View this paper
