2026 August - 38 articles

Cover Story: Our featured study focuses on the advantages that cognitive computing systems offer for sports organizations. It explores how media companies provide sports organizations with insights from the use of cognitive applications and are transforming into service providers. The speed of decision-making in sports can be increased by collecting and analyzing large amounts of statistical data in real time. Relationships can be derived from previously hidden patterns due to the cognitive limitations of the human brain. Based on the analysis of all dimensions of athletic ability and the facets of a player’s character, team performance can be improved. It is even possible to assess the extent to which an athlete’s character is compatible with a team and with which teammates they are likely to be a better or worse fit. View this paper
