Cover Story: This study proposes an innovative approach with which to minimize temperature fluctuations during refrigerated transport, aiming to reduce food waste and optimize energy consumption in the food supply chain. The solution involves integrating Peltier cells into secondary and tertiary packaging to enhance system efficiency and decrease temperature variations. Four distinct tests were conducted: a reference test, continuous Peltier system operation, and two intermittent cooling tests for the hot side of the cells. View this paper
