Cover Story: Climate-driven stresses, including drought, salinity, high temperature, and heavy metal toxicity, threaten the yield and quality of high-value horticultural crops. This review synthesizes current evidence on how biostimulants such as seaweed extracts, humic substances, protein hydrolysates, and beneficial microbes enhance crop resilience. This review also covers mechanisms ranging from improved root growth and photosynthetic performance to elevated antioxidant defense, osmotic adjustment, nutrient uptake, and stress-responsive gene networks. By integrating morphological, physiological, biochemical, and emerging transcriptomic evidence, this article highlights practical insights and identifies key research gaps to ensure more reliable, sustainable use of biostimulants in horticulture. View this paper
