Effective Strategies for Boosting Vaccine Coverage
This special issue belongs to the section "Vaccines and Public Health".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Vaccination remains one of the most effective public health interventions for preventing infectious diseases and reducing morbidity and mortality worldwide. Despite its proven benefits, suboptimal vaccine coverage persists due to factors such as vaccine hesitancy, misinformation, access barriers, and healthcare inequalities. Recent global health emergencies, including the COVID-19 pandemic, have further underscored both the importance of immunization and the fragility of vaccination systems.
Successfully addressing these challenges requires a comprehensive understanding of the determinants of vaccine uptake and the implementation of evidence-based strategies tailored to diverse populations and contexts. Innovative approaches in communication, policy-making, health system organization, and digital health are essential to improve vaccine acceptance and coverage.
This Special Issue aims to collect high-quality research on effective strategies to enhance vaccine uptake across different settings, in line with the journal’s scope, covering public health, epidemiology, and preventive medicine. Original research articles and reviews are welcome. Topics of interest include determinants of vaccine hesitancy, communication strategies, digital health interventions, health system factors, inequalities in coverage, community-based approaches, policy interventions, vaccination in emergency settings, program evaluation, and economic analyses.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.
