Nutritional Psychiatry: Nutrition, Neurobiological Function, and Mental Well-Being
This special issue belongs to the section "Nutrition and Neuro Sciences".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The overarching goal of this Special Issue is to provide a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of nutritional psychiatry, with an emphasis on clinically relevant and translational human research. Despite growing interest in the field, nutrition remains an underrecognized and underutilized modifiable factor to support mental health. We invite original research articles, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses that examine the role of dietary patterns, foods, specific nutrients, or bioactive compounds in mental health and brain functioning. Relevant outcomes include, but are not limited to, the following topics: measures of sleep, stress, mood disorder symptoms, and psychiatric condition severity across the lifespan. Scientists are encouraged to incorporate assessments of brain or neurobiological function such as neuroimaging or indices of neurotrophic support, inflammation, oxidative stress, neuroendocrine regulation, or neurovascular function. Through this collection, we aim to broaden the evidence base supporting nutritional approaches to mental well-being and expand the range of tools available to researchers and clinicians.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website.
