Nutrition and Neuro Sciences

Nutrition and Neuro Sciences represent an emerging interdisciplinary research field aimed at understanding the impact of nutrition on cognition and brain health throughout the entire lifecycle. Research in this emerging field suggests that many aspects of nutrition—spanning from the entire diet to specific nutrients—can affect the brain structure and function and are involved in almost every aspect of neural function, having profound implications for understanding the nature of healthy brain aging.

The “Nutrition and Neuro Sciences” Section aims to publish basic and clinical research volumes in the field of nutritional neuro science, with a focus on describing the effects of nutrition on brain function and behavior. We will investigate the effects of different nutrients, food preparations, and supplements (macro and micro) on brain health, neural development, neurochemistry, and behavior, alongside studies on the effects of diets, including the physiological and metabolic effects of phytochemicals, antioxidants, dietary supplements, food additives, and other nutrients on neurons, neurotransmitters and their receptors, cognition, behavior, and hormone regulation.
