Dear Colleagues,
Unlike in the visual cortex, the representation of reward feedback in the auditory cortex is insufficiently studied. The interplay between reward-based neuroplasticity, memory and attention is not fully understood under the condition of reward auditory feedback. Given that auditory processing is necessary for speech and language learning, musical perception and other cross-domain cognitive processes, studies of reward-based learning would shed light on the cortical organization of these and other cognitive functions. This Special Issue is devoted to studies that unveil neural mechanisms of reward-based learning in the auditory cortex and reward-associated neuroplasticity in the auditory system. We welcome cross-modal studies in animal models and the human brain.
