Dear Colleagues,
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is one of the most critical global health challenges of the 21st century, placing an immense burden on healthcare systems and families worldwide. The major pathophysiological hallmark of the disease is the accumulation of amyloid-beta plaques and neurofibrillary tau tangles. Recent breakthroughs in Alzheimer's research include FDA-approved disease-modifying antibody therapies like lecanemab and donanemab that target amyloid-beta accumulation, as well as new high-accuracy blood tests for early detection. Moreover, a growing body of evidence highlights the profound impact of lifestyle modifications and cardiovascular management in mitigating dementia risk.
Bridging basic laboratory science with clinical practice, this Special Issue explores the molecular and cellular cascades—including amyloid-beta pathology, tau hyperphosphorylation, neuroinflammation, and synaptic dysfunction—that drive cognitive impairment in Mild Cognitive Impairment and Alzheimer’s Disease.
In This Special Issue, “Decoding Alzheimer's Disease: From Molecules to Minds, Bench to Bedside,” we invite investigators to contribute high-quality original research articles, reviews and case reports that bridge the gap between basic neuroscience, advanced diagnostics, and real-world clinical practice.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Brain Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
