Exploring Human Emotion: From Brain to Behavior Across Disciplines

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Emotions guide human experience, linking perception, cognition, and behavior in complex and dynamic ways. This Special Issue aims to deepen our understanding of human emotion by integrating knowledge from neuroscience, psychology, and clinical research, together with contributions from philosophy, the social sciences, artificial intelligence, and other related disciplines. By connecting neural mechanisms with behavioral and experiential dimensions, we seek to explore how emotions are generated, expressed, and regulated and how they influence decision-making, social interaction, and mental well-being. Particular attention will be devoted to interdisciplinary approaches that bridge laboratory findings with real-world applications, investigating how emotions emerge and are recognized and expressed in individual and collective contexts. The goal of this Special Issue is to encourage dialog among different scientific domains and promote a broader and more integrated understanding of the emotional mind, where neural processes, subjective experience, and social implications intersect.

Benefits of Publishing in a Special Issue

  • Ease of navigation: Grouping papers by topic helps scholars navigate broad scope journals more efficiently.
  • Greater discoverability: Special Issues support the reach and impact of scientific research. Articles in Special Issues are more discoverable and cited more frequently.
  • Expansion of research network: Special Issues facilitate connections among authors, fostering scientific collaborations.
  • External promotion: Articles in Special Issues are often promoted through the journal's social media, increasing their visibility.
  • e-Book format: Special Issues with more than 10 articles can be published as dedicated e-books, ensuring wide and rapid dissemination.
