Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a critical and growing global health threat affecting humans, animals, and the environment. As bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites develop resistance to existing treatments, infections become harder to treat, leading to a greater risk of disease spread, severe illness, and death. Tackling AMR requires raising awareness, promoting the responsible use of antibiotics, and strengthening systems in healthcare, agriculture, and environmental management to reduce the emergence and spread of drug-resistant pathogens. Through collective global action, we can protect the efficacy of essential medicines for generations to come.
In recognition of World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week (18–24 November 2024), we invite you to explore selected articles, Special Issues, and journals that span fields such as medicine, pharmacology, biology, and life sciences.
