Cover Story: This cover presents a heatmap illustrating how second-order autoregressive dependence affects the empirical power of a pairwise concordance-based goodness-of-fit test for sparse binary longitudinal data. The study evaluates limited-information diagnostics for generalized linear mixed models under AR(2) and MA(2) error structures. Simulations examine Type I error rates and power across sample sizes and dependence settings, highlighting the influence of negative dependence on test performance. The study also establishes that, for binary responses, third-order concordance residuals add no information beyond pairwise concordance residuals. These findings clarify the strengths and limitations of concordance-based diagnostics in the settings examined. View this paper
