Cover Story: Neutrophils are the most abundant immune cell population in the blood, however their role in the autoimmune neurodegenerative disease multiple sclerosis (MS) remains elusive. The cover image highlights how current disease modifying treatments for MS directly and indirectly target neutrophils. Using evidence extracted from studies with animal models, to clinical trials, this review explores the role neutrophils play in the pathogenesis of MS, and gives a comprehensive overview of how they are affected by current MS treatments.
