Nutritional Genomics and Human Health: From Epigenetic Regulation to Personalized Nutrition
This special issue belongs to the section "Nutrigenetics and Nutrigenomics".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue highlights cutting‑edge research at the intersection of nutritional genomics, epigenetic regulation, and personalized nutrition, with the goal of advancing human health. Dietary factors are powerful modulators of gene expression, epigenetic landscapes, and metabolic pathways. Recent advances in multi‑omics technologies have revealed how nutrients and bioactive food compounds interact with the genome and epigenome to shape physiological processes, disease susceptibility, and individual responses to dietary interventions.
Growing evidence demonstrates that genetic variation, epigenetic modifications, and diet–gene interactions critically influence nutrient metabolism and health outcomes, accelerating the transition from population‑based dietary guidelines to precision and personalized nutrition strategies. This Special Issue aims to capture these developments and promote translational approaches that bridge molecular mechanisms with clinical and public health applications.
We invite the submission of high‑quality original research and authoritative reviews addressing mechanistic and human‑relevant studies on nutritional genomics in health and disease. Topics of interest include diet‑regulated epigenetic mechanisms, non‑coding RNAs, nutrient–gene–microbiome interactions, multi‑omics approaches, biomarkers for personalized nutrition, and the role of bioactive food compounds in modulating disease risk. Contributions linking molecular insights to dietary interventions, ethical considerations, and clinical outcomes are particularly encouraged.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Nutrients is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2900 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
