Advances in Aquatic Animal Nutrition and Feed

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue, entitled “Advances in Aquatic Animal Nutrition and Feed,” aims to highlight recent developments in the nutrition, feeding, health, and sustainable production of aquaculture species. Topics of interest include nutrient requirements and utilization, nutritional physiology and metabolism, feed formulation, alternative and sustainable feed ingredients, functional feed additives, gut health and microbiota, immunity and stress resistance, feed efficiency, and the interactions between nutrition, growth, reproduction, and product quality.

Building on the extensive literature on conventional nutrient requirements and feed formulation, this Special Issue will place particular emphasis on emerging areas such as precision nutrition, novel protein and lipid sources, functional feeds, nutrition–microbiome interactions, and environmentally sustainable feeding strategies. By bringing together original research articles and comprehensive reviews, this Special Issue aims to integrate fundamental and applied advances in aquatic animal nutrition and feed science and to support the development of efficient, healthy, and sustainable aquaculture systems.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Fishes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
