Brazilian Society of Aquaculture and Aquatic Biology (Aquabio)
The Brazilian Society of Aquaculture and Aquatic Biology (AQUABIO) is a non-profit organization founded in October 2002 with the main objective of representing the scientific community of all aquaculture-related disciplines in Brazil.
AQUABIO strives to:
- Promote educational, scientific, and technological advancement and development of aquaculture, aquatic biology, and related sciences;
- Foster the dissemination of scientific and technical information on aquaculture and aquatic biology through the systematic dissemination of the work carried out by its members;
- Defend the sustainable development of aquaculture in all instances, as a multidisciplinary activity, in which professionals from various backgrounds and specializations must freely act;
- Represent the interests of professionals in aquaculture and aquatic biology.

Iberian Society of Ichthyology (SIBIC)
The Iberian Society of Ichthyology (SIBIC) was created by a group of researchers and managers in 2010 to gather the collective efforts of professionals working on the study and conservation of native fishes of inland and marine ecosystems of the Iberian Peninsula.
The specific objectives of the SIBIC are the conservation of aquatic ecosystems of the Iberian Peninsula and increasing the interest in native fish species; disseminating information about them and promoting the citizen participation; contacting, representing, and cooperating with those public or private organizations; and encouraging and collaborating in national and international projects and the exchange of scientific knowledge in the field of the activity of the Association.
