AI-Driven Data Integration and Intelligent Data Management for Smart Digital Systems
This special issue belongs to the section "Artificial Intelligence".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The rapid growth of intelligent digital technologies, including the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud–edge computing, cyber-physical systems, and smart connected environments, has resulted in unprecedented volumes of heterogeneous and distributed data. The efficient integration, management, processing, and analysis of such data have become critical challenges in modern electronic and intelligent systems. This Special Issue welcomes original research and review articles focusing on innovative methodologies, architectures, frameworks, and applications related to data integration and intelligent data management in smart digital systems. Submissions addressing scalable, secure, interoperable, and AI-enabled data-driven solutions that advance the capabilities of modern intelligent systems are particularly encouraged.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Intelligent data integration frameworks and architectures for autonomous, connected, and smart environments;
- AI-driven data management, analytics, and intelligent optimization;
- Smart healthcare data management and interoperable digital health systems;
- IoT-enabled, wearable, and sensor-based data analytics;
- Big data architectures, distributed databases, and cloud–edge computing platforms;
- Predictive analytics, intelligent decision support, and AI-assisted applications;
- Secure, privacy-preserving, and trustworthy data integration and governance;
- Data quality, governance, provenance, and lifecycle management;
- Federated learning, decentralized AI, and cyber-physical data ecosystems;
- Explainable, ethical, and responsible AI for data-centric systems;
- Smart and sustainable applications in healthcare, smart cities, transportation, agriculture, energy, and education.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Electronics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
