Liver Transplantation in Oncology: Perspectives on Medical and Surgical Aspects

This special issue belongs to the section “Surgical Oncology“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Over the last several decades, there has been significant progress in medical and surgical therapies for both primary and metastatic liver cancer, particularly related to eligibility for curative therapies, including liver transplantation. This Special Issue will outline multiple aspects of liver cancer, including the following:

  1. Historical perspectives on liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma;
  2. Surgical outcomes and techniques for primary and metastatic liver cancer;
  3. Liver allocation, surgical techniques, and transplant outcomes in hepatocellular carcinoma;
  4. Pre-transplantation loco-regional therapies, techniques, and success rates in downstaging tumors to optimize patient outcomes following liver transplantation;
  5. Pre-transplantation chemo- and immunotherapies as adjunctive therapy;
  6. Transplant outcomes in cholangiocarcinoma, neuroendocrine tumors, and colon cancer.

For this Special Issue, we welcome original articles, comprehensive reviews, and rare, clinically significant case reports. We look forward to receiving your contributions.
