February 2022 - 21 articles

Cover Story: This study investigated the effect of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) on energy consumption using annual data from 2010 to 2020, for 29 European countries, with quantile regression and OLS with fixed-effects econometric techniques. It was found that BEVs reduce energy consumption. These findings support the notion that BEVs are more energy-efficient than conventional cars. Indeed, more financial incentive policies are necessary to increase the adoption of electric vehicles. Finally, affordable charging points should be provided, and customer awareness of the benefits of BEVs should be improved. View this paper
