Cover Story: An examination of the electrical conductivity mechanism in a PEDOT:PTSA thermoelectric material supported on PET fibers was conducted, with varying PTSA concentrations. This material exhibited thermoelectric properties, with Seebeck coefficients ranging from 0.9 to 2.7 mV/K. The added PTSA played two roles in electrical conductivity. At lower concentrations, the carrier concentration and mobility were enhanced through chemical doping. Conversely, at higher concentrations, excess PTSA impeded carriers, resulting in decreased electrical conductivity. This study reveals that by carefully managing the equilibrium between these two effects, it is feasible to attain both a high Seebeck coefficient and elevated electrical conductivity. View this paper
