Advances in Polymeric Dental Restorative Materials

Dear Colleagues,

Polymeric dental restorative materials are at the forefront of innovation in modern dentistry, offering unprecedented opportunities to improve clinical performance, biological function, and patient-centered care. From implant-supported restorations and prosthodontic applications to adhesive interfaces and minimally invasive treatments, polymer-based materials continue to evolve as highly adaptable platforms with broad translational potential. Recent advances have expanded their roles beyond conventional restoration, enabling enhanced biocompatibility, antibacterial activity, mechanical reliability, and controlled interaction with the oral environment. In parallel, polymeric systems are emerging as promising drug delivery vehicles for localized therapy, opening new avenues for regenerative and preventive dental strategies. This Special Issue seeks to bring together cutting-edge research that advances the design, functionalization, and clinical application of polymeric dental restorative materials.

Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Polymers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
