Advances in Polymer Science and Engineering: IUPAC 51st World Polymer Congress (MACRO 2026)

The IUPAC World Polymer Congress (MACRO 2026: https://macro2026.org/scientific-programme) serves as a premier international platform for presenting cutting-edge research and fostering collaboration across the broad field of polymer science and engineering. This Special Issue in Polymers invites high-quality original research articles based on work presented at MACRO 2026. This Special Issue aims to highlight recent advances in polymer synthesis, characterization, processing, functional materials, polymer physics, sustainable and bio-based polymers, polymer composites and nanocomposites, biomaterials, smart and responsive polymers, polymer recycling, circular economy approaches, and emerging applications of polymers in energy, environmental remediation, healthcare, electronics, and advanced manufacturing. Contributions that demonstrate innovative materials, novel processing strategies, interdisciplinary approaches, and practical applications are particularly encouraged. All submitted manuscripts will undergo the journal's standard rigorous peer-review process to ensure scientific quality and originality. This Special Issue provides an excellent opportunity for researchers to disseminate their latest findings to the global polymer science community while showcasing the scientific contributions presented at MACRO 2026.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Polymers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
