Dear Colleagues,
Rising demand for food production depends on efficient agrochemicals, yet the spread of herbicide-resistant species underscores the urgency for innovative solutions, and natural products stand out as valuable sources of bioactive compounds, while organic synthesis provides a complementary approach for designing, modifying, and optimizing their properties. Consequently, research on biologically active alkaloids and terpenes has attracted growing interest, particularly due to their relevance to agricultural and pharmaceutical applications. Nevertheless, significant challenges persist in fully elucidating their structures and biological functions. Adopting strategies centered around the use of both natural and synthetic compounds supports the discovery and rational development of new herbicidal agents that are aligned with the goals of agricultural sustainability and reduced environmental impact.

Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Plants is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
