Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials for Energy Applications (2nd Edition)

Dear Colleagues,

Under the dual pressures of global ecological environment deterioration and increasing shortage of traditional fossil energy resources, utilizing renewable energy has become an important energy strategy for every country for achieving social sustainability. Harvesting renewable energies from our ambient environments through developing novel smart nanomaterials and micro/nanoscale energy technologies is of great practical significance. The emergence of nanogenerators, which can effectively harvest environmental mechanical energy to generate electricity, provides a promising route to developing sustainable energy. The rapid development of the nanogenerator technologies has gradually advanced human ideas about energy harvesting. Moreover, new smart nanomaterials with new nanostructures must be explored for nanogenerator systems to enhance the output performance and efficiency of nanogenerators. This Special Issue, entitled “Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials for Energy Applications (2nd Edition)”, will cover recent achievements in the fields of novel nanomaterial fabrication and characterization, as well as nanotechnology applications in environmental energy harvesting and self-powered systems.
