Dear Colleagues,
Rapid industrialization, agricultural intensification, and urbanization have led to severe water pollution worldwide, particularly in developing regions. Traditional treatment technologies often struggle to efficiently remove persistent contaminants such as heavy metals, dyes, pharmaceuticals, and emerging pollutants from wastewater.
Over the past two decades, significant advances have been made in the field of nanostructured composites. These materials, including graphene-based hybrids, metal oxide–polymer composites, carbon nanotube frameworks, and MOF-derived nanocomposites, offer exceptional surface area, tunable functionality, and multifunctional properties that enable superior adsorption, photocatalysis, and membrane separation performance.
This Special Issue, entitled “Advanced Nanostructured Composites for Environmental Remediation and Water Treatment”, aims to showcase the latest developments in the design, green synthesis, characterization, and application of advanced nanostructured composites for sustainable water purification and environmental cleanup. We invite contributions focusing on novel composite architectures, mechanistic insights, performance in real wastewater matrices, regeneration/reusability, scalability, and life-cycle assessment.
Original research articles, reviews, and communications addressing these topics are highly welcome.

Manuscript Submission Information

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Materials is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
