Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The rapid proliferation of mobile devices and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies has fundamentally transformed our digital landscape, creating unprecedented opportunities for innovation while simultaneously introducing complex security challenges. This Special Issue on “Mobile and Internet of Things Security” aims at addressing the critical security concerns that have emerged from the widespread adoption of these interconnected technologies.
Focus and Scope: This Special Issue focuses on cutting-edge research in mobile and IoT security, encompassing both theoretical foundations and practical implementations. We seek contributions that address security challenges across the entire mobile and IoT ecosystem, from device-level vulnerabilities to network-wide attacks, and from privacy preservation to secure data analytics.
The scope includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Mobile device security architectures and frameworks;
- IoT device authentication and authorization mechanisms;
- Secure communication protocols for mobile and IoT networks;
- Privacy-preserving techniques for mobile applications and IoT systems;
- AI-driven threat detection and response systems;
- Blockchain applications in mobile and IoT security;
- Edge computing security for mobile and IoT environments;
- Security analytics for mobile and IoT data streams;
- Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing methodologies;
- Secure software development for mobile and IoT platforms;
- HPC security ;
- Quantum Cryptography algorithms and models.
The primary purpose of this collection is to advance the state of the art in mobile and IoT security by bringing together researchers and practitioners to share innovative solutions, emerging challenges, and future research directions. We aim to bridge the gap between academic research and industry needs by featuring work that addresses real-world security problems with practical implications.
This Special Issue will complement the existing literature by focusing specifically on the intersection of mobile technologies and IoT security, an area that has gained significant attention due to recent high-profile security breaches and the increasing sophistication of cyber threats. While previous publications have addressed mobile security and IoT security separately, this collection emphasizes their convergence and the unique security challenges that arise from their integration. This Special Issue will supplement current knowledge by featuring interdisciplinary approaches that combine cybersecurity with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain.
We invite researchers to submit original research articles, comprehensive surveys, and case studies that contribute to our understanding of mobile and IoT security challenges and solutions.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Electronics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
