Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

With the large-scale deployment of 5G/6G, the deep integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and edge computing, and the exponential growth of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, the network has penetrated every corner of the social economy, becoming the core engine driving digital transformation. However, this process is also accompanied by unprecedented challenges: increasingly intelligent means of network attacks, frequent incidents of data privacy breaches, protocol compatibility issues caused by heterogeneous network fusion, and intensified contradictions between energy consumption and computing power demands. In this context, research on network security and intelligent application must keep pace with the development of network technology, laying the foundation for building a trustworthy, controllable and scalable digital world. This Special Issue aims to provide a platform for researchers and practitioners to share insights, methods, and innovative solutions. We will focus on the latest developments in network security and intelligent applications, including, but not limited to, research on network security threat detection, data privacy protection mechanisms, password algorithm optimization, security protocol design, blockchain applications, and intelligent applications. We encourage the submission of interdisciplinary achievements to promote research on network security deployment and intelligent applications. We sincerely invite researchers from academia and industry to contribute high-quality original research results. We look forward to promoting the improvement of network security protection capabilities and the healthy development of intelligent applications through the presentation and exchange of this Special Issue, laying a solid foundation for the sustainable prosperity of the global digital economy.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. 6G network intrinsic security architecture.
  2. AI-driven network threat detection and response.
  3. Security enhancement techniques for software-defined networks and programmable data planes.
  4. Intelligent system application in edge computing and distributed network environment.
  5. Network measurement, situational awareness, and collaborative defense.
  6. Application of privacy-enhanced computing in network analysis.
  7. Privacy protection technologies and intelligent applications in the Internet of Things.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Electronics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
