The Role of Ethics Education in Shaping Student Success

The Special Issue "The Role of Ethics Education in Shaping Student Success" examines how ethics education within higher education fosters academic integrity, workforce-ready values, and resilient decision-making in a rapidly changing technological landscape. Rising concerns about academic dishonesty, shifting assessment modalities, and the transformative impact of artificial intelligence make ethical formation central to both student success and public trust in institutions. Equipping students with values and practical ethical skills directly supports employability, professional identity, and responsible participation in complex workplaces.

This Special Issue seeks theoretical, empirical, and practice-oriented contributions that advance understanding of how ethics education translates into measurable student outcomes, career readiness, and organizational culture. We welcome interdisciplinary work that evaluates curricular designs, pedagogies, assessment strategies, and institutional policies. Submissions that interrogate the ethical challenges and opportunities posed by AI (e.g., algorithmic decision-making, academic integrity in an AI-assisted environment, and AI literacy for ethical practice) are particularly encouraged.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a double-anonymized peer-review process. Education Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
