Enhancing Sexual Health as a Core Component of Cancer Survivorship
This special issue belongs to the section "Psychosocial Oncology".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Sexual dysfunction is a highly prevalent yet persistently undertreated consequence of cancer and its treatment, affecting patients across the cancer continuum and profoundly influencing quality of life, identity, relationships, and psychological well-being. This Special Issue will focus on sexual function as a central and in many cases unmet need in cancer survivorship. Sexual health in cancer will be broadly explored through a biopsychosocial lens integrating the biological effects of treatment, psychological adaptation, relational dynamics, and health-system factors.
The issue will include scholarly reviews and/or original research papers addressing sexual health in survivors of breast, gynecologic, colorectal, prostate, and testicular cancers. Topics will highlight common and malignancy-specific sexual sequelae, barriers and disparities in access to sexual health care for these patients, and innovative approaches or treatments in this space.
Collectively, this issue aims to inform and advance sexual health as an essential component of comprehensive oncology care.
