Biomarkers in the Management of Gynecological Cancer
This special issue belongs to the section "Cancer Biomarkers".
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue will focus on the discovery, validation and clinical implementation of biomarkers in gynecologic cancers, with the overarching goal of advancing precision risk stratification, early detection, prognostication and treatment decision-making across cervical, endometrial, ovarian and vulvar malignancies.
A growing body of evidence suggests that both molecular and readily accessible clinical biomarkers can meaningfully refine patient management, in particular, to support diagnostic triage, rule-out strategies and risk prediction in real-world clinical settings.
We welcome high-quality submissions spanning translational and clinical research, including but not limited to:
- Diagnostic and triage biomarkers, including non-invasive markers and combined biomarker panels;
- Prognostic and predictive biomarkers for treatment response, recurrence risk and survival outcomes;
- HPV-related biomarkers and molecular risk stratification, including p16/Ki-67 and related pathways;
- Systemic inflammation and immune-based indices, including dynamic biomarker changes over time;
- Molecular profiling and multi-omic approaches, such as genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, methylation and ctDNA;
- Biomarkers supporting personalized management, including fertility-sparing strategies and tailored surveillance.
Article types may include original research, prospective or retrospective clinical studies, translational investigations, systematic reviews/meta-analyses and methodological papers addressing biomarker validation, reproducibility and clinical utility.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the Special Issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Cancers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2900 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
