Cover Story: This study examines how managerial myopia constrains bank digital transformation. Using panel data from 55 Chinese listed banks and a text-based measure of myopia, we find that short-term orientation impedes transformation by reducing risk-taking propensity. This effect weakens with longer managerial tenure, greater team diversity, higher education, larger bank size, stronger governance, and heightened external scrutiny or competition. The findings offer insights into governance and culture for sustainable digital advancement. View this paper
